3. Liberation: Alan Stevens and Fiona Moore
The subtitle is: The Unofficial and Unauthorized Guide to Blake's 7
This is a pretty good guide to the British TV series Blake's 7, which my girlfriend and I watched over the first few months of 2009. The authors have solid aesthetic judgment, and are able to articulate what makes a particular episode good or bad (or more frequently, what's good or bad about a particular episode). They're also adept at teasing out subtext and psychologizing the show's characters. I wish the book had more material on the actual production process of the show, but you can't have everything.
