22. A Week at the Airport by Alain de Botton

(though it probably doesn't matter, I read the Kindle version of this book)

I am a fan of de Botton's earlier books, especially his book on Proust and his book on Philosophy. The books after those two have been a bit hit and miss for me. In this one, he is invited to spend a week at Heathrow Airport as "writer in residence", and write about his experiences. De Botton has a way with words, so his writing is elegant and pleasant to read, but there is not a lot of meat here. I found the book a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours, but other than one section that I wanted to read out loud to my wife, I can't remember anything of substance to talk about in this review. So, I guess this is only recommended for people who already like the author's work.
