Subtitled: Inside the White Power Movement’s Hidden Spaces of Hate. A sociological/ethnographic investigation into the modern white power movements: neo-nazis, Klan, skinheads and Christian Identity types. The authors were granted significant access to the lives of their subjects, and the reports they bring back from these racist subcultures are both banal and frightening. Basically, these are mostly very ordinary people—but with a deeply-felt hatred toward nonwhite races. All of the usual domestic concerns are there, but they all get deformed by this overriding racist conviction. And every so often, some of them will do something terrible. Depressing but recommended.
