4. The Curious Case of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon

A short novel in the form of a journal written by the main character, an Autistic High School student. Christopher finds his neighbor's dog dead at the beginning of the book and spends the rest of his time collecting evidence to find the murderer.

It was a little cliche that the Autistic boy was also good at math, but since I like math I enjoyed it. Any book that can work in an explanation of the Monty Hall Door Problem and the Sieve of Erathosthenes is OK with me. Smile

A quick read, with fairly well developed characters. Narrating through an Autistic voice could have easily become exploitative or overly sentimental, but Haddon did a nice job of respecting the character and telling his story.
