This is a collection of illustrated pieces by R.G. Taylor (probably best known as artist on Sandman Mystery Theater) about how comics affected writers' lives. Each piece is written by a different author.

Several stand out. The first piece, about how Steve Ditko's The Final Chapter Spider-Man story (see here: http://www.samruby.com/AmazingSpider-ManA/amazing_spiderman_033.htm) and how the story paralleled the author's own life at the time was very touching. The piece that is an ode to Jack Kirby's The Demon #1 was also really nice. Other standouts cover Eisner's Spirit, Tintin, and the pieces as a whole give you a great idea of what it was like growing up in Canada in the 60s and 70s.

I came across this by accident at a used book store. I don't remember reading about it before. Recommended if you are interested in this sort of thing.
