17. Approximate Continuum Comics by Lewis Trondheim

This is another library find. Trondheim is a french artist whose book Mister O I remember reading several years ago.

These are autobiographical comics about Trondheim's life. We see him pitching a comic strip about a fly to the Japanese, having parties with his fellow comic book creators, searching for a new house, and writing a lot about his interior life. The art is black and white and loosely cartoony - people are represented as humans with animal heads. After a few pages, you don't notice it.

I read this in one sitting last night. I enjoyed it, and feel like I have some idea about what Trondheim is like as a person. But, the book is $18.99. I don't know if I would have paid for it.

So, recommended, at least if free.
