31. An Engineer's Alphabet by Henry Petroski

Sunday night I was walking through Barnes and Noble after having dinner with my parents. Sometimes, you walk into a bookstore and a book that is just for you is magically on the shelf.

This is a common place book by a well known engineer/author. It is just a collection of short entries on a wide variety of subjects connected with engineering and engineers. Reading through this book makes up for the disappointing Schott's Miscellany I reviewed a few books ago. This is an exceptional bedside book.

Highly recommended.
